Today it is a joy and privilege for me to encourage people personally and professionally and inspire those young and old and in between to gain, grow, and give.
I grew up the youngest daughter of a single disabled mother. Today I proudly hold a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, a Master’s Degree in Counseling and the esteemed title MBTI® Master Practitioner. I am certified to administer and interpret the MBTI®, Strong Interest Inventory® and FIRO®, assessments. My twenty years of higher education experience consisted of career development through teaching and counseling and 7+ years as an academic dean. My research concentrated on negative AND positive aspects of stress for community college executives and how certain personal qualities contribute to successful careers. I published Women in Bloom to acknowledge a number of bold women who returned to college even when it was difficult and uncomfortable for them to do so.
I was lucky enough to take a class with Doctor Mattson. Doctor Mattson was one of the most caring professors I’ve had. She really took the time to help me further my studies and provided me with the contacts I needed to do so. She is very caring and wise. – Quinnie Stunrod
Dr. Carol Mattson is a rare breed. She goes above and beyond the call of duty to help others. It is clear when you talk with her that she actually cares about you. She provides practical and easy steps to make a career decision by exploring interests, values, skills and personality. The outcome is helping you feel focused and confident. – Carla Sotomayor
